Roof Inspection

The roof inspection includes more factors than just the roof covering.

Norm walks every roof where the structure is safe for him to access. The condition of the covering, the ridges and also the valleys need to be studied. The number of layers of covering is important and the presence of underlayment needs to be determined.

The gutters, downspouts, and splashblocks serve to remove water from the roof and direct it away from the house. The roof should also be looked at from the underneath side for signs of previous leakage/staining. The support system of the roof, whether rafters or trusses, can be viewed from the attic space to be sure it is intact and capable of supporting the roof itself.
